Everything Works in Divine Order :)

We may not always have what we want 100% of the time.  But in my short life I have learned that He always makes sure we have what we need.  And upon being grateful, we are blessed beyond measure.

Feeling loved, feeling fly like I'm going somewhere because I am.  Thank Jesus for the work from above.

Preparing for my second David Shinobi shoot.  This we are tackling the work of Terry Richardson.  His style and connection is incredible.  Stay tuned for our own rendition!

...

Meanshile, google Terry Richardson Beyoncé or Rihanna to get an idea of what we are going for.

Good night world
:)

Greatest Challenge

I am sitting here doing my thing, you know working on my blog, website, and port all at the same time.  Checking out tweets, and jotting down ideas.  And then the phrase "greatest challenge" popped into my head.  So that brought me to think, what is the greatest challenge in this industry??  Some people would say to be thin....well I think a lot of people models or not would say the same.  Maybe that can be a problem for some.  But many of us were made for this!!  That's why I feel that the greatest challenge in this industry is to be consistently confident within oneself.

Although, everything around you may change, from the designers, to the cities and models.  Stay faithful to yourself first and it will take you far.  You will forever shine brightly like no other!

My port is quickly developing....

I am so excited to bring to you all more of my work from photographer David Shinobi.  We had a great time shooting on the North side and it shows in our work.  Enjoy some sneak peeks of what is soooo hot in my portfolio!!!

Shoot ideas!!

One of my main goals, while working in this beautiful industry is to walk the VS runway for one of their bi-annual shows.  Yea, I know...I keep saying.  Trust me I have dreamed of it and day dreamed about it during undergrad.  Besides, if you don't dream it, how can you see yourself achieving it.

Every minute spent chasing this dream is time well spent.  Everything is a learning experience.  I have learned from others how to run a blog etc.  So this post relates to all of the concepts that run through my intelligent brain.  Some of them are completed, others still need a Photographer (PG), Hair stylists (HU), and/or MUA.

1. Lingerie Shoot (all white)- David Shinobi (PG),  MUA & HU (myself) *Complete
2. Mock Make-up Commercial- headshots focusing on Lashes, Lips, Eyeshadows <needs PG, HU, MUA
3. Swimwear- think sexy VS catalog Candice Swanepoel <needs PG, HU, & MUA
4. Egyptian Goddess- think Cleopatra & ancient Egyptian art and beauty< PG booked, needs MUA & HS
5. Garden of Beauty- using outdoor landscape as a back drop, natural sweet summer photo<needs PG, MUA, HS
6. Belts & Boots- use belts to wrap around the model's body for clothing and coverage, include only leather belts and different styles with boots of course<needs PG, MUA, HS
7. Bodysuits- include 3 different styled bodysuits each dramatized with accessories like ribbon, sea shells, etc.
8. Disrobing- looking to build a unique comp card from this particular shoot,  starts with fully dressed in business attire disrobing down to a lingerie set <needs PG, MUA, HS
9. Mock Jean Ad- very similar to jean ads for Guess, Calvin Klein, etc. topless & with v-neck tee<needs PG, MUA, HS
10. Evening Wear- have 1 dress, looking for more options in wardrobe, more than likely will be outdoors once it warms up a bit <needs PG, MUA, HS, and stylist
11. Lifestyle- <needs PG, MUA, HS
12. Spring/Summer- looking to produce a funny loving, care free shoot <needs PG, MUA, HS
13. Androgyny- looking to prepare and complete a shoot showcasing both female and male characteristics <needs PG, MUA, HS

Set your mind to it ....and do it!

At one point in my life, I wanted to prove that I was more than a beautiful girl.  Thus the eight years of school.  When all along, I should have been doing what makes me the happiest.  But I must admit, I was not sure of what would make me happy.

Eight years and a lot of dreaming, I found that I want to be a Mogul.  That way all of the jobs can fall under one category, Mogul.  Truthfully, I just don't want to leave this Earth without doing all the things God showed me I could do.  So I will be a Chemist, Model, Business Owner, Motivator, Giver, Community Activist, and most of all a woman of God.

I don't have to choose.  And just because my resume reads BS & MS, doesn't mean that I an unequipped to do other things I set my mind to.

Just some thoughts...

Shinobi updates!!!

I had the pleasure of working with an amazing photographer recently in Chicago.  I met photographer David Shinobi on Model Mayhem.  He is from the Tampa, FL area but here in Chicago on business.  Thank God he brought his best friend with the lens.

One of the coolest things about David is his ability to make you feel totally comfortable.  He is very outgoing and funny, makes for a great and free spirited photo session.  He is very fair and understanding.  Oh yea, and he normally shooting outdoors with natural light, thanks to the beautiful weather in Florida.  But of course, we shot indoors here in Chicago.  He made the arrangements and everything went extremely well.

Check out images from the lingerie/underwear look!!

Thanks to these great images...new comp cards coming soon!  Thank you again David for all of your work.  It was a pleasure and I look forward to working with you in the future.  Thank you Model Mayhem making this possible.  MM#3181327

My Own Throwback Thursday

Hi,

Everyone who knows me and knows me well, knows that I am a hard worker.  With this post I want to share with you all some of my earlier modeling experiences.  Over the years, I have gained very valuable experience.  The traveling, attending castings, and meeting new models and producers have all been a blessing.,

Modeling among other things, has always been a dream of mine, literally.  Some nights I dream that I am on the Victoria Secret runway for one of their awesome bi-annual shows.  Never give up on your dreams!  I am a firm believer that if it is meant for your future, you'll see it right before your eyes!  Keep your dreams alive at any cost!

Check out this post to see me following my dreams.  I believe this was during the time that I was preparing for ANTM auditions about 4 years ago.

Back in Effect!!!

Let me start by apologizing for the lack of posts.  Now that, that is out of the way, let me bring you up to speed on my latest works.  I have been fortunate and blessed enough to travel and work with some great photographers and artists.

I went to DC, to shoot with SG4 photography which was TFP.  I had a wonderful time working and taking in the sights of DC.  My first time to DC, so I was quite exicted.  The best part of the trip was the ease of transportation, sort of reminded me of NYC.

Everyone knows that to succeed at your craft it is best to surround yourself with experienced individuals like the designers, models, MUAs, and production crew found at NYFW!!!! This is definitely the best time of year to go to NYC for me.  I canceled my trip to NYFW, due to the need to work here in Chicago.  But, I wish all the other models fame and fortune on there trips.

Next up, for me will be LAFW 03/08-03/15.  And shortly, after that will be Austin Fashion Week!!

Check out the latest update to my portfolio.  Shot with photographer David Shinobi of Florida.  As always view more work in my Model Mayhem account www.modelmayhem.com/ebonymechell.
